How do I get more information on off-site levies for my piece of land?

Off-site levies are charges that help pay for roads and utilities that are outside (off-site) of a development or subdivision. Within Parkland County, off-site levies apply to parts of the land in and adjacent to: 

  • Acheson Business Park area 

  • Fifth Meridian Business Park area 

  • Big Lake residential area north of Highway 16 

  • County residential areas

What information is required to book a pre-application meeting?

A pre-application meeting request must include: 

  • the meeting agenda (including any specific questions you may have), 

  • the proposed parcel, and 

  • a description of your proposed business (include any tentative drawings, if applicable).  

At this meeting, you can learn more about land use, off-site levies, development regulations and permitting requirements. 

How do I find the municipal or legal land address for a property?
To find the municipal or legal land address of a property you can use Discover Parkland or Parkland County’s PLANit portal.

Discover Parkland 

There are many ways within DiscoverParkland to navigate to the property you are interested in.  

 

1. Parcel search 

If you have some form of addressing, you can use the Parcel search function. To do this: 

  1. Click on the ‘Search’ tab 

  2. Click on "Parcels"
  3. Choose your address type and press ‘Next’ (Municipal Address, Legal Description, Plan - Block – Lot, or Subdivision Name) 
  4. Enter your address and press ‘Show in Map’ 
  5. The parcel will show in the map with an information panel on the left including the other address info and a link to download the Property Report. 

2. Discover Parcels 

If you have some form of addressing, you can use the Discover Parcels function. To do this: 

  1. Click on ‘I want to’ 

  2. Select ‘Discover Parcels’
  3. Choose your address type and press ‘Next’ (Municipal Address, Legal Description, Plan - Block – Lot, or Subdivision Name) 
  4. Enter your address and press ‘Show in Map’ 
  5. The parcel will show in the map with an information panel on the left including the other address info and a link to download the Property Report. 

3. Map Zoom 

If you have no address information whatsoever, you can zoom around on the map and click on parcels to activate the left information panel. This way tends to be a bit slower, so should be used as a last resort. 

 

PLANit Portal 

If you have the municipal address for the property, but require other formats, you can look the property up using PLANit

  1. Click on ‘Search for a Property’ 

  2. Start typing the address in the bar and select it from the list when it shows up 
  3. It should automatically load the property. If it does not, press ‘Go’.

How do I see a compliance review on a piece of land, including RPR and confirmation of permits?  
To find and review a file in PLANit. To do this:

1. Go to PLANit and Sign in 
2. Click "Apply for a Development Permit or Compliance" under Development Permits
3. Choose the project type: " Compliance and File Review"
