Highway 628 reconstruction announcement celebrated by Parkland County.
Following the Government of Alberta’s announcement of the reconstruction of Highway 628 West of Edmonton, Mayor Rod Shaigec shared the following:
“We are thrilled and encouraged by the announcement of the highly anticipated reconstruction of Highway 628. As our Tri-Municipal Region has grown in the last several years: both in population and the amount of business operations, one common theme is increased traffic volumes that need to be accommodated for.
“This realignment and reconstruction will not only help improve traffic flow along the highway, reducing commute times and congestion, but even more importantly – it will improve safety for all motorists in the region.
“On behalf of Parkland County Council, I want to thank the Province for approving funding for this critical regional infrastructure – helping to keep Parkland growing.
