Gainford Hotel Celebrates Grand Re-opening

Last Saturday, we celebrated the grand re-opening of the Gainford Hotel's Iron Lady Saloon. The Gainford Hotel has been a landmark in the community since it originally opened back in 1958. 

Councillor Allan Hoefsloot presented owner, Nancy Power with a plaque in recognition of their re-opening.

We are thrilled that it is once again offering a place for residents and those passing by to sit down, relax, and enjoy some good food.

Parkland County Firefighter Jordan Burrows and Peace Officer Travis Henrikson, along with RCMP Officer Mark Friesen, have received Decorations for Bravery for their life-saving response during an intense emergency.

Students from the grade 3/4 class of the MyPath program, run out of the Connections for Learning school, had the opportunity to explore the Parkland County Animal Shelter, the role of a Peace Officer, and the importance of both in the community.

Yesterday, our Enforcement Services team, along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Alberta Sheriffs, Parkland County Fire Services, and Tuber Towing held our first Candy Cane Checkstop in Tomahawk.
