Impacts of Canada Post strike on County Services

The Canada Post strike has ended, and postal service is gradually resuming. However, delays related to Canada Post delivery backlogs are expected to persist for the next few weeks.

Introducing Fire Services Cost Recovery

Starting January 1, 2025, Parkland County Fire Services may issue invoices to recover costs from certain types of emergency responses. Large complex fires, increased incident volumes, and preventable response calls are increasing the cost to operate our Fire Services.

To off-set these rising costs, and to avoid passing the increased operations costs on to residents through higher tax rates, Council approved a Fire Cost Recovery policy in September 2024.

Parkland County Keeps Tax Rates Amongst Lowest in Edmonton Region

Parkland County Council has approved the operating and capital budget for 2025, keeping tax increases low and predictable while continuing to maintain service levels and fund important investments.

Council approved a municipal tax increase of 2.5%. The impact to a residential property assessed at $500,000 is $4.71 per month. The impact to property owners will vary depending on changes to the property and market conditions.
