Fire Ban in Effect

Please be advised that a Fire Ban is in effect immediately in Parkland County. No outdoor fires are permitted until further notice, including screened fire pits, burn barrels/incinerators, recreational fire pits and charcoal briquette barbecues. Only gas and propane appliances such as barbecues, stoves and fire pits are allowed. All fire permits are suspended/cancelled and no new permits will be issued. Parkland County is excited to be one of 12 communities across Canada receiving the Wawanesa Community Wildfire Prevention Grants in 2024. These grants will fund a local project to help increase our resilience to wildfires through risk reduction and prevention activities. The Government of Alberta has declared an early start to the 2024 wildfire season, which typically begins March 1, due to warmer than normal temperatures and below average precipitation.
