Special Waste & Appliances

Many of the special waste products listed below are harmful to both the environment and human health. Parkland County Solid Waste Services provides the facilities that will allow you to dispose of these products in a safe and responsible manner.

Parkland County residents with a Solid Waste Disposal Access Card can dispose of the following items at no charge to the transfer stations indicated.

Used Oil, Oil Filters, Oil Containers	Parkland County Transfer Station & Recycle Centre, Kapasiwin, Seba Beach and Tomahawk Transfer Stations
Batteries – automotive and household	All transfer stations
Fluorescent Light bulbs, including Compact Fluorescents. If possible, bulbs should be disposed of in their original packaging	Parkland County Transfer Station & Recycle Centre
Household Hazardous Waste	All transfer stations
Paint & Aerosols	All transfer stations
Tires	All transfer stations
Pesticide Containers – triple-rinsed & punctured	Parkland County Transfer Station & Recycle Centre
Electronics, including TVs, Computer Monitors, Computers, Laptops, Keyboards/Mouse/Cables, Microwaves	All transfer stations
Appliances, including refrigerated appliances such as fridges, freezers, water coolers and air conditioners. Note: a Health and Safety Fee of $75 will be applied to fridge and freezer units containing food or waste dropped off at Transfer station sites.	All transfer stations Please note: No Fridges and Freezers at Kapasiwin and Seba Beach Transfer Stations until further notice. Please divert to our other locations.
