Road Construction
Engineering Services is responsible for the Parkland County Road Program. The Road Program sets out a plan for both the construction of new roads as well as the maintenance of existing roadways. Below are the details of this year's Road Program.

Surfacing Requests - County Residential Subdivisions
Parkland County will give consideration to the construction of asphalt stabilized surfacing on municipal roadways within county residential subdivisions as a local improvement pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Government Act of Alberta. Local improvements carried out under Municipal Policy EN001-Road Surfacing County Residential Policy EN001 (pdf) will result in the levy of a local improvement tax against all land in the area that benefits from the local improvement.
Municipal Policy EN001-Road Surfacing County Residential Policy EN001(pdf) includes information regarding:
- Eligibility: What criteria a subdivision must meet prior to being considered eligible for subdivision surfacing. Implementation: Expands on local improvement tax rate formula, period of time tax levy will be applied and life expectancy of the surfacing project.
- Petition Requirements: This section of the Policy outlines all petition requirements and includes a petition form.
- Typical Asphalt Stabilized Base Course Construction Specification: This typical specification drawing indicates to what standard the asphalt stabilized base course will be constructed to.
