Aboriginal Day
Parkland County is proud to partner in the 14th Annual Aboriginal Day Celebration:
“We are all related.”
Friday, June 14th, 2013
Heritage Park Pavilion, Stony Plain
Open to everyone and for all ages! This celebration brings together children and families to participate in activities that encourage creativity, fun competition, lots of food, dedicated play areas, crafts, face-painting, vendors, information booths and a day filled with contemporary and traditional music, dance and, of course, laughter. Activities include craft tables, Tiny Tots Tee Pee, Northern Inuit Games, Petting Zoo and much more! Check out the second annual Fashion Show, which highlights the traditional clothing and regalia as well as showcase contemporary outfits.
Experience different cultural teachings and activities that profile our Aboriginal Communities both within our traditional lands and treaties as well as the diversity of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples across our country.
This Celebration is a joint endeavour from community partners that include Parkland County, Town of Stony Plain, Alberta Parenting for the Future, Aboriginal Parent Link Center, McMan, Alberta Health Services, Paul First Nation Administration, Paul First Nation Health & Community Wellness, Alexander First Nation, Native Counselling Services of Alberta, Edmonton and Area Child and Family Services Authority and our dedicated Elders and community leaders whose generous spirits have contributed to this event’s success.
