The rental of a CCIA Tag Reader:
As per the Animal Health Act, for each calf born in Alberta from January 1, 2009 onward, cattle owners are requried to affix an approved Canadian Cattle Identification Agency (CCIA) ear tag and to register the animal's corresponding birth date on the CCIA database by 8 months of age or prior to the animal leaving its herd of origin, whichever comes first.
