ACHESON INDUSTRIAL PARKBusiness Questionnaire and Census 2009
During the months June – August 2009 Economic Development of Parkland County conducted a Business Questionnaire/Census from the Acheson Industrial Area Businesses.
The survey was conducted in order to determine what emergency services (police, fire, ambulance etc.) are required for the Area as well as possible public transportation (buses) to/from the Acheson Industrial Area. In addition there were some questions regarding the needs in employee attraction/retention.
Economic Development Department collected the answers through the on-line questionnaire and communicated with business owners through e-mail, fax and phone as well. We have collected a total of 142 completed surveys (out of 192 businesses). Through communication via phone we found out that many companies are subsidiaries of the bigger companies and their numbers were already included in their mother’s companies’ reports. We also found out there is a small number of companies that have just their warehouse located in the Acheson, but their physical business address is in Edmonton.
Please note that not all the businesses answered all the questions. Some were not applicable to the small businesses.
This report sums up the basic findings from the survey. It provides the graphs and answers each question separately. Also, each question is supported with the data collected.
