In 2005, we made the decision to move from our location in Edmonton, which we had outgrown, to a new location. We looked at a number of different potential sites in and around the Edmonton area and decided on Acheson. We were attracted to Acheson by the reasonable land cost, which allowed us to choose a site with room for future growth. We also liked the full utility services and excellent access to Yellowhead and Highway 60. We were concerned at the time that moving outside of Edmonton would make it difficult to fill our entry level production staffing requirements but after we moved, we discovered that we had better quality and number of applicants in Acheson. We are very happy with the move and looking forward to many more years in Acheson.

Sysco Edmonton
Year Established in Parkland County: 2006
www.syscoedmonton.ca
Sysco Edmonton commenced construction of our 370,000 square foot multi temperature distribution facility in 2006. Construction followed a long process of analysis in both supply chain and economic factors which included, site size, land cost, tax rate and the willingness of the county to work with us on the development. All factors under consideration proved to be positive. Sysco’s distribution facility handles in excess of one hundred inbound and outbound loads daily so the right access and location was critical. Our location in the Acheson Industrial Park satisfied our key logistical demands which were inbound and outbound market access, availability of a sizable plot of land, which we found difficult to find in other parks. Finally, reasonably close proximity to the majority of our current staff who for the most part reside in St Albert and Edmonton’s west end. A wonderful side benefit has proven to be the ready access to staffing from Spruce Grove and Stony Plain to compliment our existing staff. Our relocation to the Acheson Business Park has been all positive.

TIC Canada
Established in Parkland County: 2005

2004 / 05 TIC Canada ULC was undertaking the consolidation of our offices and pipe fabrication – module yard facility. TIC chose the Acheson Industrial Park, Zone 2 for our new location to erect a 38,000 sq. ft. facility. Primary reason was due to reasonable cost of land and low business tax as compared to Nisku & Strathcona County industrial parks. As well, ease of access to HWY 60 as a heavy haul route combined with the ability to ship during the daytime hours was a considering factor. Since moving in January 2005, the area has become much more developed and our decision was timely with the way the park is continuing to expand and bring more services to the area.
