What’s an offsite levy?

The Municipal Government Act allows municipalities to regulate or prohibit any development within its boundaries by imposing conditions that must be satisfied before development approval will be granted. These conditions may include creation of fees and charges related to funding new development infrastructure, such as roads, water, and sewer.
